Re: Flat slider carbs and cone filters

Have a look at the thread about removing the airbox in here. The engine, carbs and airbox were designed together and getting them to work without each other is hassle.

When it's in the centre stand with weight in the rear does the steering go from centre to each side freely? With the front still up when you grab the top of the forks and move them in all dir...

Re: Tyre

Not sure but it would alter the profile to squeeze it onto the rim and affect the geometry with the front. If you are after handling then you can't get better than a pair of stock size Michelin Pilot Street Radials and serviced front and back suspension.

Re: New members say Hi here!

Hi and welcome. Looks like you have (had ;)) a mostly complete bike there. Loads were made so second hand parts are cheap and numerous. Feel free to ask questions and be prepared for the Gen1 fans to start humping your leg

Re: carb overhaul !

If you are doing the headrace bearings then consider changing the fork oil at the same time. Don't strip them, just pop the tops, drain and refill. For the sake of £15 or less it will improve the handling if it's not been changed in a few years. Do it outside mind as my old oil smelt like a s*** had...
