My mate has a J reg bike that hasn't run for10 years to my knowledge, he's offering it for £500.
I expect the carbs need stripping and cleaning before it fires up.
Oh yes, you're in for some fun. The carbs can be tricky little beggars.
Overall, the GPz is a good bike to work on. I doubt it will cause you any headaches if you have restored a 400/4 - I had a 400/4 (and a couple of 550/4's) many years ago.

Hi chaps. I'm not an owner yet. My mate has a J reg bike that hasn't run for10 years to my knowledge, he's offering it for £500. My other bikes are a 400four, which is my baby. It's one that I've restored and spannered every single nut and bolt.
My other bike is a ratty Honda VT250F, which I bought to commute go work, not wanting to ride the 400 every day through shitty weather. I've fettled the VT, and sprayed it black (used to be white). Getting back to the point, the VT is now up for sale on fleabay to raise the cash for the GPZ, plus a new battery, VED, etc. I expect the carbs need stripping and cleaning before it fires up.
Watch this space.

Mike
Welcome,

Did you get it,?

Stood for 10yrs,? it might need a service,

Hi all Mackay here!

Just bought a 97 GPZ 500. It should definitely be described as a none running project so suspect I will be asking lots of questions on here.

Hi Everyone,

Just making a quick post to introduce myself. I have purchased a 1989 gpz 500s. I am in the process of doing my first motorbike project and it is currently stripped down to the frame. Hoping to pick some brains at some point. Thanks in advance.

Hi Mathew, welcome, :D

There's a few members done frame-up rebuilds so whatever questions you have someone will have the answer.

Good to see another 1st gen bike being saved, :D :D
