Will the er5forks fit the gpz?

short answer. gen 2. YES. gen 1. NO. gen 1's are 36mm dia.
long answer. of course if you put them on the gen 2 the brake will be on the wrong side [left] and you cannot turn the wheel round as the speedo would run backwards, but the ER front wheel is a straight swap. so yes to the fork swap providing you also swap out the wheel.
it could be possible to reverse the legs ie. left to right to put the brake on the right side. but I don't know if anyone has done this in theory it should be possible if the calliper will mount on the fork with it being the fitted on the wrong side of the mounts.

The A series er5 has 36mm forks so they will fit the 1st gen gpz.
As Col's already said, they can be made to fit, but, it's a lot of messing about. Plus, the gpz forks are quite softly sprung, and the er's are slightly softer so not really a good option.
