Think the decelerator mechanism is there as an additional 'safety measure' in case the throttle jams open, have owned bikes with just a accelerator cable with no problems at all, the first being a sloped where the throttle was permanently jammed open
well thanks for the help n pics ,went to il cables n i believe the return cable (close) has been broken since i had it , never snapped back ! had to have balance pipe on my exhaust welded up too bugger! .. ordered a cable monday n it arrived today damn impressed i am .
cables fitted hopefully correctly, but now as i back of the throttle it seems to decelerte slower than before as in revs take a while to drop ! whereas before the revs dropped instantly,tho the throttle tube snaps shut ???
